Hamstead Marshall Village Hall
was built in 1895 as a village school, converting
to community use in 1933. Since then it has
undergone numerous refurbishments to instal modern
facilities. However the original Victorian charm
has been retained. You can read about the
hall’s history as a school in chapter 21 of Craven Country.
A high ceiling and a large
north window give the main hall a light and airy
feel. It measures 17-feet by 30-feet, and can take
40-50 people. There is also an entrance lobby with
coat hooks, a fully fitted kitchen, a rear lobby
with storage, and toilets with nappy-changing
facilities. Heating is by wall-mounted infra-red
units. All areas have disabled access. Outside
there is a car park and outdoor play area.
