Hamstead Marshall
Garden Society
Circle of Friends
The Enborne & Hamstead Marshall Garden Society was created in 1984 from a society whose origins go back to 1910.
   Meetings are held three times a year, usually on a Wednesday evening: in the spring (end of March or early April);
summer (end of June or first week in July);
and autumn (including AGM and social evening). The gatherings may be at a garden, a garden centre or the village hall, depending upon hospitality available. The AGM, after which there is a social evening and quiz, is held in the village hall.
  The annual flower show is held in Hazel Paddock, opposite Enborne School. There are many classes of competition, open to members, parishioners and others. Look for announcements in What's On on this website or in the Hamstead Hornet.
   The annual subscription is £3 per individual, £5 joint, payable on 1 January each year.
   The secretary is Penelope Lake, who can be contacted on 01635 48701.
is a group of ladies of all ages who meet informally once a month to hear a speaker and to chat. There is no fixed membership: newcomers are welcome, and regulars are encouraged to bring friends.
  Meetings are usually held from19.30 to 21.30 on the first Thursday of each month in the village hall. £3 covers entry, tea/coffee and raffle. See notices in What's On on this website or in the Hamstead Hornet, or contact
Sue Watts on 01488 658932 to learn more.
